Though one may be overpowered,
two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
Ecclesiastes 4:12
It’s really hard to make this journey alone! Really, really hard. But when you have 1 or 2 other people who will come along side you, pray with you and for you, and hold you accountable….. it makes the chances of your success so much greater.
I had the joy of meeting with a bunch of really nice people over the past few days at the HCG seminars I did at Natural Options. What lovely people. It was so encouraging to know that what I write here at my desk is helping some of you make it. But, you also need people around you who are standing with you. So my prayer today is that we would come along side one another. My prayer is that we would lift one another up, spur on another on and hold one another accountable. It’s hard to do that when we don’t know each other…. so if you are taking this 40 day journey and you are willing to leave a comment with your name and how we can pray for you…. it would help us build a community of support.
Many blessings to you dear ones. I am right there with you. For some, you are just now leaving the place of bondage and heading into the desert. For some, you have been in the desert far to long and you are sure this is your chance to get to your place of promise. For some of us, this may be lap 4,5,6 or 10…. with many more laps to come…. but right now, for such a time as this… we are taking this lap together. I count it an honor and a privilege to be taking this one with you. So, let’s get to know each other a little bit.
I’ll start… My name is Cindy and food is my drug of choice. I long to live a life that is 100% spirit-led and for my flesh and soul to stop leading me in circles. I have 5 kids and wear many different hats. I have my own photography business, I am currently a substitute physics teacher a few days a month and I am a soccer mom. I lead praise and worship with kids at my church and I just wrote my first book, The Lamp Maker, which has given me more opportunities to speak recently. I have lost 70 pounds doing the HCG diet and I love Jesus. I started this 40 day blog to help others who were struggling with their weight, but it has blossomed into so much more. Many who take the 40 day journey are working on other issues and are working it out with the Lord. My prayer is that each person who takes this journey will sense God’s transforming power, his love and care and his direction in their lives.
Ok… it’s your turn. Tell us a little about you and how we can pray for you. Go ahead… take a step of faith and join this community so you can get the support you need.
Cindy, you are a blessing to me and I”m sure many others. As I read your blog everyday my commitment is renewed within me. I pray that YAhweh Rophe, “The Lord that Heals”, (this is God’s name of choice that I’m using this year) will work within you and all those making this commitment. I pray that He heal our minds so that we are not tempted to over eat, or to break our promise to God in any way. My name is Patti Holland, and you know my past struggle. Since I’ve overcome that, I have an eating problem. I do really good all day, but after dinner I can’t stop eating. This is part of my fast, but so far I haven’t been able to do it. I too love Jesus with all my heart, but I am still in bondage to my flesh. I’ve also devoted these 40 days to prayer and study. Yahweh Rophe has just brought me through a long period of illness, so I know He hears me. Am I just wanting too much too soon? Please pray for me, and join me in praying to Yahweh Rophe for a healing in all those trying to draw closer to God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ.
Patti, I an praying with you and for you for continued healing and complete transformation. When we are weak, he is strong…. may we all draw our strength from HIm. Keep pressing in dear friend! Much love and blessings!
I love that verse. I recited it the weekend that Linda, Laura, and I went to Hamtramck.
